i always find it funny when the ghost is in the bathroom, because that technically means that while the ghost was alive, the room the enjoyed being in the most was the bathroom.
Can't turn off the flashlight? How about try removing the batteries?

the most simple cheat for this is: never turn ON the flashlight.
Personally i dont think ghosts are lost souls or anything but instead 1 of 3 things, a person with little visual stimulation hearing or seeing things, tricks pulled by a crew, or time being a odd thing and events just being shown in the place they happened but no way to interact with the current time.

Something that would be really cool that they should add to Phasmophobia is new death animation. I feel like sometimes the death animation we have now isnt that scary.

One thing I like to suggest is the houses shouldn't be new like they are on a lot of these. Why are these new houses haunted? It doesn't make sense

I say they should add a day mode. Not necessarily as a normal play mode but for a check out the map mode. Where one can view and explore the entire map fully lit.
